I think taking his whole class to Disney Land was a wonderful idea, and I can see how he’d want to do it right away! I hope his spirit wasn’t really crushed, the way his note made it sound. The world needs determined people with great ideas! He just needs to hire an assistant to help him make his ideas reality! If you watch the Michael Jackson movie, Michael had CRAZY ideas that people said were impossible, but because he was famous, people bent over backwards to make them reality.
So, Nigel, it didn’t work out this year, but there’s always NEXT year, right???!!!

I love though that he is so well able to formulate and express ideas. And further more, make a plan! Awesome.

it must be intense for him, living in the grip of ideas, ones that take over, fill up his thinking for a bit. i like that often his ideas are related to other people, doing something beneficial for others, nigel has such a good heart.

so…good luck weathering these, i know they’re just as intense for you.

someday one of those “big ideas” will pan out and it will be an AMAZING idea. Does he ever learn anything in terms of what’s needed for planning? For instance that time is needed etc? It’s a wonderful learning experience. I love him.

oh and Daniel used to spell words out with the foam letters for the bathtub when he wasn’t speaking

So awesome that even though his big idea for spring break didn’t work out, someone is harnessing that and helping him plan something for the end of the year.

That broke my heart that he wrote out his response like that! Hopefully he’ll have fun planning the end of the year trip. I remember in 8th grade we had a big project done in partners of planning a trip to somewhere exotic, including all the smaller (but important) details and that got me to realize how much is involved in planning a trip–but it also prepared me better for traveling I did in the future!
