Thanks so much for reading, and for your input. My strong belief, thirteen years post-diagnosis as the parent of a child with autism, is that the most effective way to address ignorance (bullying, etc.) is through awareness. The fact is that after putting that sticker on my car, Nigel has experienced far fewer bullying incidents. The vast majority of the kids know him and know more about the reasons for his behavior, and they are more compassionate. I’m not saying it’s because of the sticker, but that’s what has happened in the past year (fourteen months) since I wrote this post. However, I do appreciate your concern and your comment.
