Beautiful! And what a caring sped coordinator! J wanted nothing to do with the iep meetings, unfortunately (but understandably). He wasn't thrilled with the cast of characters that we were stuck with!

I have a feeling that Nigel will thrive in high school!

Sounds like a wonderful school! Especially the part about never having to eat lunch alone. I wish I had gone to a school like that... my high school life would have been much different!

Congratulations Tanya. You are a pioneer and so is Nigel. Pat yourself on the back. Like then to now, he will go further than anyone can imagine. You are a great mom.

I love this post. It gives me a huge amount of hope. Go, Nigel! I'm with Carrie though, I find it very difficult to look back at old videotapes of "official" events. I even have a hard time reading over notebooks and journals from the early years.

We have some of our early doctor appointments on video (long story) and you couldn't pay me a million dollars to watch them. Well, okay, maybe for a million.

And I quite agree that he will be fine. Better than fine.

It must have been something to listen to that first tape and now see how far Nigel has come. Not only can he find his way, he can participate in the meeting and even make a joke! He will do fine. This is such an encouragement for me!
