The Great Debate

I get a lot of page views as a result of some head-scratching search topics, as most bloggers do. Some of the searches have absolutely no relevance to what I write about, and some are quite funny. But here’s one that’s funny and relevant. In fact, I’d have to say that this one wins the prize for Funniest Search Topic of the Month, although I get the impression that it wasn’t necessarily supposed to be funny. Okay, here it is -

“autistic teens wear boxers” and “autistic teens wear briefs”

For what purpose would one need to know this? A survey? A parent checking on the general consensus before heading out to Target? After my laughter subsided, I was intrigued. I guess it could be a valid concern. It just looked funny in my list of searches.

And for the record, the autistic teen who resides here wears boxer briefs. Has for years and loves them. Now you know. Just in case the person who typed that search decided to check back.  And I’m not laughing at you, I’m laughing – oh, you know.

I, for one, am laughing at them.

Instead of briefs, I wear abbreviateds.

I haven’t used silly phrases to search for your site in months. I need to get back to that.

  2. Em Says:

Very funny. People search for the oddest things. Who knows…maybe they really are interested in what the mom of a teen with autism wears?!? LOL

I totally was not the one who did that search, but I must say it was a major concern for me. I didn’t know what all the cool kids were wearing at school, and I didn’t want to make my boys the butt of any jokes in the locker room.

We went with boxer briefs, and so far none of the bullies have teased them about their underwearage.

  4. Fearless Females Says:

My son wears briefs and so does my daughter—the girl kind that is.

I wear panties, the Victoria Secret kind…

Oh, is that too much input!!??

  5. Michelle O'Neil Says:

    Strange.
Perhaps it’s relatives searching for the right “type” of undies for gifts?

    Maybe?

But who gives underware for presents?

I don’t know what to make of it.

  6. osh Says:

Mine wears regular boxers…he likes the crazy patterns.

  7. Tanya Savko Says:

Mama Mara – I’m glad you mentioned that – it makes sense now why a parent would want to know. I should have thought of that!

Fearless – LOL! Wear ‘em proud!

Not yet a teen but always been a fan of the boxer briefs. When Alex was younger the “tightie whities” were too constricting – major sensory issues, he liked the “padded toddler” training underwear (gerber or carters) because they have no elastic – wore those until he outgrew size 4T which was quickly and then we moved to boxer briefs. I accidently bought regular briefs a few times because I grabbed the wrong pkg and he will wear those but definitely prefers to Rock the boxer briefs LOL!!!!!

Funny but Interesting topic and I can see why somoene would search on it.
