Picture Day
Often it’s the little things that really make your day. With homeschool pictures, you get to choose the day, you get to take as many shots as you want until you get a good one, and you don’t have to write a check. You also get to make sure that your child is wearing something decent, not the ratty old T-shirt he wore last year without your knowledge that it was picture day at school. This year, I feel vindicated. Here is the homeschooled one, in all his self-buttoned glory.

Nice looking pic of Nigel. Tomorrow is pic day at Middle School for Matt. I like that they have a uniform for this particular day since so many kids around here would go in a suit and tie and the girls in dresses that were not appropriate.
My neighborhood was listed in the top 10 from APA - Echo Park. For Nicholas there is a form to send in with a pic and they make a student ID for it. Since in CA they have year round schools I do not see the need for it. Sure enough the other day while Nick was trying on jeans in mens section at Target the lady asks me if there was school. She commented when I said he is homeschooled that she did not think they did that anymore. Wow she is in the dark ages.

Everyone, thanks for your lovely comments about Nigel.
Bonnie, that’s very interesting about homeschool IDs. I had never even thought of that. I do have an approval letter from the school district stating that Nigel is a registered homeschooled student, so maybe I need to take that with me when we are running errands before 3 PM! Dark ages indeed!

Tanya, I hope you’re planning on sending copies of Nigel’s school picture to loving Aunties who miss him!
